The Gray-headed Swamphen is about the size of a chicken but has huge feet to walk on the swamp, beautifully bright, with striking plumage, red bill, and a frontal shield. It lives in the wetlands or swamps, rivers, and lakes in small groups. Although native to southern Asia, they have established in Florida's wetlands and may have arrived when hurricane Andrew hit the region in 1992.
